Already in 1241 AD, the coast of Montemartano is mentioned in a diploma of Frederick II which lists the castles and rural villas not yet fortified at that time, placed under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Spoleto.
The frequency of fortifications, largely in ruins, can be found along the road that descends from Montemartano towards Spoleto, passing through Terzo la Pieve, a stop on the Roman route, widely used in the Middle Ages, between the Martani Mountains and the city.
Continuing south we touch the Uncinano Castle. After 1200 AD the castle was transformed into a convent with an adjoining small church (no longer existing) with a crypt containing the remains of a crusader knight and its cemetery area. Since 1600, the urban agglomeration has been divided into several houses for use by the resident population.
Built close to the castle, the Casale probably underwent a first expansion around 1700 on an existing medieval building.
Later in the second half of the 1800s it was renovated by Don Cesare Marroni (parish priest of the Villa outside of Uncinano) who lived there until the construction of the new church with an adjoining new parish house.
The construction of the new church in Uncinano is the work of Don Cesare Marroni with a project that draws many ideas from the Upper Basilica of Assisi.
Leo XIII with a bull kept inside the farmhouse, grants Don Cesare the benefit of the outer Villa of Uncinano in 1896.
Also worth seeing is the document of the Kingdom of Italy signed by Umberto which formalises this benefit.
In the same period Don Cesare receives the appointment of Monsignor.
Typical is the renovation of Monsignor Marroni who wanted to create the garden on the side of the mountains with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
The Monsignor used to walk in the garden which he entered from the back in complete silence and isolation from the town.
The farmhouse was then abandoned after the thirties on the death of the Monsignor and was bought together with the surrounding land by the Anderlini family who made it their home with a partial renovation.
In 2006, the farmhouse was completely renovated, according to the ancient conformation and recovering the typical appearance of the Umbrian farmhouse with terracotta floors, chestnut beams, exposed stone walls.
The renovations ended in 2010.
In the last decade the Casale has been enriched with the inauguration of the new Depandance in the garden, the new swimming pool-solarium area overlooking the Spoleto valley and the new independent entrance with its parking area under expansion.
The business is still managed by the Anderlini family..
